Who is Krishna?
The Supreme Personality of Godhead
The All-Attractive One
The word "Krishna" means "the all-attractive one." In the ancient Vedic scriptures of India, God is recognized as the supreme conscious being, possessing unlimited forms and names. Among all these forms, His original, most complete, and most attractive form is Krishna.
Supreme Controller
Krishna is the source of all material and spiritual worlds. Everything emanates from Him. He is the ultimate creator, maintainer, and destroyer of the cosmic manifestation.
Supreme Friend
Despite His supreme majesty, Krishna wants a loving relationship with us. He sits in the heart of every living entity as the Supersoul, guiding us and waiting for us to turn our attention back to Him.
Connecting with Krishna
Because we are eternally part and parcel of Krishna, our true happiness lies in rekindling our dormant relationship with Him. In the current age of Kali-yuga (the age of quarrel and hypocrisy), the Vedic scriptures recommend the simplest and most sublime method for spiritual realization: the chanting of His holy names.
The Great Mantra for Deliverance
Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama
Rama Rama, Hare Hare
Chanting this mantra cleanses the heart, frees the mind from anxieties, and awakens our pure, dormant love for God. We invite you to chant and be happy!
